People hated to go to Kalapani before independence, but now people go there and revere the martyrs!

The British government used Andamans to imprison the Indian freedom fighters and to torture them. This made Andamans a dreadful destination for the people of those times. But now, the ghosts of the past are no more. Only the 698-celled cellular jail remains as a testimony to the sacrifices made by patriotic and selfless martyrs. The jail had witnessed human right violations that are no less than the ones carried out in Auschwitz and Alcatraz. A place every Indian should visit at least once in his/her lifetime.
