Ross Island, the seat of the British secretariat till 1942, is a perfect a live-musuem of the past. Colonial buildings, perfectly angled roads, pavements tell us how it would have been bustling with activity, housing 500 British officers and their families.

The Japanese bunker here (made during the 2nd World War), made to camouflage the fighting forces from the enemies is, indeed ironically, now a must-see tourist spot!
