Island Tourism Festival in the Andamans is a fortnight long annual event organized by the Andaman & Nicobar Administration. From one month to the festival and throughout it, the islands wear a festive, colorful look. The Island festival is aimed to highlight the Tourist and Cultural highlights of the islands and is attended by people from various parts of the world.
Performance Groups, Cultural Troupes and renowned artistes of national and international fame are invited to perform during the festival apart from indigenuous performances by the talents of these islands, including the ab-origin tribals.
"Nicobari Hodi Race" is the most-sought after highlight among the Water sports competitions that would be held. Magic show, Puppet show, Floating restaurant, Baby show, Dog show, Canoe Race, are other crowd pullers that stud the festival with kaleidoscopic participation from different countries.In the recent years, the festival has also been promoting the idea of "Eco-friendly Tourism" and to make Andamans as one of those "Green & Clean Destinations".
